Grindleford Galllop - 13th March 2010
The Grindleford Gallop is a 21 mile circular route, open to both runners and walkers, through some of Derbyshires finest countryside. The route starts at Grindleford moving on to Eyam, Great Longstone, Chatsworth and Baslow over a variety of terrain with stunning views from Curbar Gap and Froggatt Edge. Newtons Fraction Half Marathon - Sunday 7th March 2010
Organised by road runners from the club, with on-site parking, showers, toilets, changing, refreshments and a bar, the race features a superb finish on the track inside the South Kesteven Sports Stadium.
The course has a measurement certificate and is run according to UKA rules with a limit of 500 competitors
Perfect for a pre-London training run or just a testing 13.1 mile run, the 'half' heads out into the Lincolnshire countryside and within 2 miles joins the Grantham-Nottingham canal towpath for an almost 3 mile stretch to 'The Dirty Duck' pub at Woolsthorpe Wharf. Rejoining the road on the on the Lincolnshire/Leicestershire border within view of Belvoir Castle, the runners encounter a couple of challenging climbs before finishing back in the stadium.
